It was only a matter of time before Dalton was taken out on General Hospital, and on Wednesday’s episode, his time was up, wrapping Daniel Goddard’s time on the show. Professor Henry Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) time in Port Charles began back in April when the physicist joined PCU as a new professor. He unknowingly shared a history with Emma (Braedyn Bruner), who had once broken into his former university lab to expose his animal testing. At PCU, both Emma and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) competed to be his teaching assistant, each with very different motives, while Dalton leaned into the attention from his young female students. The animal-testing mystery became a major storyline for Emma and Gio (Giovanni Mazza), eventually pulling in Rocco (Finn Carr), Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) during a break-in that ended with Rocco taking the blame so the others could escape.

Dalton’s final week escalated when he taunted Laura Collins (Genie Francis) about Rocco’s trumped-up charges, an encounter caught on multiple cell phones around Port Charles. After getting drunk, Dalton crossed paths with Josslyn, Emma, Gio, and Vaughn (Bryce Durfee). While Josslyn tried to gather intel for the WSB, Emma confronted Dalton until Vaughn stepped in and revealed himself as WSB, ordering Dalton to appear the next day to confess. It was at the Brown Dog that Dalton revealed he kept a secret lab elsewhere in Port Charles, where the animal testing actually took place.

Instead of facing consequences, Dalton went straight to Wyndemere, where Sidwell (Carlo Rota) shot him through the heart. His body later ended up in Laura’s trunk, making her an immediate suspect given their very public confrontation. Although Dalton was designed as a short-term character, many viewers felt Daniel Goddard brought charisma and leading-man appeal that could have served Port Charles longer. After the episode aired, GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini confirmed Goddard’s exit, adding, “It was a short-term role from the start, and we appreciate what a good job Daniel did with it. We wish him all the best in the future.”
