Days of our Lives The Rinse November 10: Why It’s Time for Thomas to Disappear
When Emmy-nominated Days of Our Lives star Cary Christopher announced he’d be leaving his role as Thomas — not a surprise, the pint-sized leading man is starring in the horror film, Weapons, as we speak — fans were afraid the car accident Thomas got into on Friday might mean the end of Chad and Abigail’s little boy. That didn’t happen. On the November 10 episode, the fallout from Thomas’ accident played out.
Thomas’ Injury
Thomas (Cary Christopher) saw his dad comforting Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) and, in a snit, ran away — straight into the path of an oncoming car. Chad (Billy Flynn) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) stood there and screamed. OK, that’s something.
Luckily, Thomas is fine. Just a bump to the head and a dislocated shoulder. But he’s still cranky. Jennifer is worried, though. Thomas has already asked if he could come live in Boston with her and Jack (Matthew Ashford). Jennifer said no. But after the accident, she reconsidered and told Chad that if he fought her, she’d sue him for custody.
Instead of recasting Thomas with another pre-teen who only has Rachel (Alice Halsey) to hang out with, now would be the perfect time to take him off the canvas for a few months… only to come back in the summer, all grown up.
Teen Scenes
He’s certainly justified. He was born before Holly (Ashley Puzemis), and she’s in college! The Salem teen scene could definitely use more members, especially ones connected to a core family.
But what we’d really love to see is a teen Thomas… and a teen Rachel. Right now, Rachel is just a brat. But an adult Rachel would be an out-and-out menace. And might finally fill the slot the one teen hellion Sami (Alison Sweeney) left behind.
