The sudden fire in Logan left Katie and Eric seriously injured; Steffy was the one who started it
The Logan collection became a major industry success, winning praise from buyers and critics while shifting power away from Forrester Creations. Steffy took the victory personally because it suggested her past leadership decisions had weakened the company instead of protecting it. She first dismissed the success as temporary, but the numbers and attention proved the market had changed. Soon she began noticing design details that looked familiar and seemed connected to Eric Forrester’s unfinished ideas. Steffy convinced herself that the Logan line had used Eric’s final work without permission. Feeling betrayed, she let anger replace careful judgment. During a violent storm, she drove straight to Katie Logan’s house to confront her. Katie opened the door in confusion and immediately sensed Steffy had come for a fight. Steffy stormed inside and accused Katie of stealing designs that belonged to her family. The confrontation quickly turned from suspicion into open hostility.
Katie firmly denied stealing anything and tried to stay calm as Steffy raged. When Eric’s name was mentioned, Steffy noticed hidden sketches in the room and recognized his style instantly. She moved toward the papers and became certain her grandfather’s work had been used to build the Logan collection. Katie tried to explain that Steffy did not understand the full story. Steffy, no longer listening, lost control completely. In a burst of anger, she grabbed a nearby candle and threw it across the room. The candle struck expensive fabrics and started a small flame that spread almost instantly. Fire raced through the room, turning the house into chaos within seconds. Eric suddenly emerged from another room and rushed to save Katie. He pulled her from immediate danger, but the flames quickly blocked their escape routes.
Steffy saw the disaster she had caused and panicked as Katie called out to her. Instead of helping, she fled into the storm outside while the fire raged behind her. Inside the burning house, Eric and Katie were left trapped in deadly conditions. Fire crews later extinguished the blaze, but the damage was catastrophic. Brooke Logan arrived at the ruins overwhelmed by grief for her sister. While searching through the wreckage, she discovered a cufflink hidden beneath debris. She recognized it as one Steffy had been wearing earlier that same day. Realizing the object connected Steffy to the fire, Brooke kept it instead of giving it to police immediately. She wanted to hear the truth directly from Steffy first. With the cufflink in hand, she returned to Forrester Creations for answers.
Brooke confronted Steffy privately and revealed that she had found the cufflink in Katie’s burned home. Steffy denied being there at first, but her fear and hesitation made the lie obvious. Brooke pressed harder until Steffy finally admitted she never meant for the fire to happen. She confessed she had gone there angry and only wanted to confront Katie about the designs. Brooke replied that losing control had nearly killed two people. Steffy begged Brooke not to involve the police, but Brooke refused to protect her. Ridge then entered and learned that his daughter had been connected to the blaze. He struggled between defending Steffy and facing the truth of what she had done. Brooke declared that Steffy would answer for her actions in court. What began as a house fire had now become a reckoning for the entire family.
