Y&R Recap April 27: Nick Collapses During Sharon & Noah’s Rescue As Matt Clark Watches

Cain starts the day at Crimson Lights distracted enough to take Holden Novak’s coffee by mistake. Holden notices Cain’s troubled mood and asks about Malcolm Winters’ worsening health crisis. Cain admits he volunteered for bone marrow testing because Malcolm urgently needs a donor. Holden also wonders if Cain hopes helping Malcolm might reopen the door with Lily Winters. Across town, Lily grows irritated when Devon complains about business problems at Society. She tells him Malcolm’s condition matters more than corporate battles or personal grudges. Devon and Nate were tested already, but neither was a match for Malcolm. Lily says Cain’s test results could be Malcolm’s best remaining hope. Devon still questions whether Cain expects something from Lily in return. Lily sharply insists that saving Malcolm is the only thing that matters right now.

Devon’s anger worsens when Abby delivers news that his attempt to overturn Mariah Copeland’s plea deal has failed. He fumes so intensely that Abby warns even Dominic is noticing his constant tension. Meanwhile, Lily, Devon, and Nate gather anxiously for Malcolm’s latest medical update. Dr. Stephanie Simmons arrives as everyone waits to hear whether hope still exists. Cain then enters with Holden just as the lab results come in. Cain checks the report and learns he is a bone marrow match for Malcolm. Lily is overwhelmed with relief because Malcolm may finally have a chance to survive. Devon’s suspicions remain, but Cain’s role suddenly becomes too important to dismiss. Cain is now back at the emotional center of Lily’s world whether anyone likes it or not. In Genoa City, hope arrives, but it brings new complications with it.

In Las Vegas, Chelsea Lawson argues with Reza Thompson until a knock brings Sienna Belell to the door. Sienna has realized Noah Newman and Sharon Newman flew to Vegas and may be in danger. She distrusts Reza but listens when Chelsea reveals Matt Clark stole Nick and Adam Newman’s phones. Reza then gives Sienna the address of an abandoned gas station tied to Matt. Believing it may be the only lead, Sienna rushes off to find Noah and Sharon. Elsewhere, Adam notices Nick driving erratically and forces him to pull over. Adam bluntly tells Nick to take his pills if that is what he needs to function. He also promises Nick will get real help once the crisis is over. Adam knows Nick is unraveling, but there is no time for denial now. They continue racing toward the gas station where Matt’s trap is waiting.

At the abandoned gas station, Matt has Sharon and Noah chained to a pole and taunts them cruelly. He leaves them there to die while they struggle desperately to reach a nearby toolbox. The tools are close enough to give hope but too far away to save them. Adam and Nick finally burst into the building, giving Sharon and Noah a moment of relief. Unseen by them, Matt watches the rescue through a surveillance feed in his car. Adam immediately tries to free Sharon and Noah before Matt can strike again. Then Nick’s condition suddenly catches up with him at the worst possible time. He collapses to the floor, turning the rescue into fresh chaos. Sharon, Noah, and Adam panic because they are still trapped inside Matt’s deadly setup. The episode ends with Matt still watching, Nick down, and everyone’s fate hanging in the balance.
