Grayson begins the episode in terrible condition after being stabbed and bleeding heavily. Instead of staying in the hospital for treatment, he escapes alone and runs into the streets. It becomes clear he is not fleeing pain but the people who attacked him. He believes the hospital would be the first place they would search for him. His choice to risk bleeding out shows how terrified he truly is. Grayson tries to call Jacob, likely hoping to reveal everything he knows. However, Jacob is busy speaking with Ren, who is casually holding the same knife used in the stabbing. The sight of Ren creates immediate danger because Jacob has no idea how close he is to death. Then Grayson sends an emergency signal that instantly changes Jacob’s mood. Jacob senses something is terribly wrong and focuses on survival.

Grayson is now at a breaking point because everything he trusted has collapsed. Surviving this attack will likely transform him into someone very different.
