One MISTAKE, One NIGHTMARE — Chanel’s TRAGEDY Begins…||Days of our Lives Spoilers

Kristen DiMera and Sofia Choi are no longer discussing revenge in theory, as they now appear ready to launch a dangerous scheme with serious consequences. Kristen blames EJ for Rachel’s suffering and wants to hurt him in the most personal way possible. Johnny becomes the obvious target because he represents EJ’s legacy, future, and family pride. By attacking Johnny, Kristen would also strike at his marriage, unborn child, and life with Chanel. Her thinking suggests that if EJ caused pain, then he deserves to feel helpless pain in return. Once revenge is treated as justice, the line between punishment and catastrophe quickly disappears. Chanel already feels exposed because she is deeply connected to Johnny and everything he values. Even if she is not the intended victim, she stands directly in the fallout zone of any attack on him. In stories driven by vengeance, innocent people often suffer more than the guilty. That possibility makes Chanel seem like the most vulnerable person in this setup.

Sofia’s involvement makes the threat even worse because she adds instability instead of control. Kristen is motivated by revenge, but Sofia is fueled by resentment, immaturity, and her own issues with Holly. This means the plan is no longer focused on one goal but has become a collision of multiple grudges. Schemes driven by mixed emotional agendas are harder to manage and easier to derail. Sofia is unlikely to calmly follow instructions and may improvise or overreact under pressure. The real danger may come not from a perfect strike on Johnny but from mistakes within the alliance itself. Someone could panic, act too fast, or make a false assumption at the worst moment. In soap stories, disorder is often more destructive than careful planning. Chanel is caught between reckless motives, unstable timing, and a plan already spiraling beyond control. Kristen may think she gained help, but she may have invited chaos into an already dangerous plot.

Chanel’s pregnancy raises the stakes because any harm to her could endanger two lives instead of one. Johnny has repeatedly expressed anxiety about Chanel and the baby, which often signals future trouble in a soap storyline. Writers frequently use a character’s fears to build emotional tension before disaster strikes. Chanel seems to dismiss Johnny’s worry as overthinking, but viewers are being encouraged to see more than that. His fear may be a warning that danger is approaching from a direction neither of them sees. Neither Johnny nor Chanel suspects Kristen and Sofia’s alliance could directly threaten them. Johnny worries about natural complications, stress, and uncertainty rather than sabotage. If Chanel is hurt, Johnny would likely be crushed by guilt and replay every warning sign he missed. He would wonder whether his instincts were trying to tell him something he failed to understand. At that point, the story would shift from revenge to a tragedy built on loss, guilt, and heartbreak.

The power of this storyline comes from the possibility that no one involved truly intends the outcome they may create. Kristen thinks she is targeting EJ through Johnny, while Sofia wants an outlet for her own anger. On paper the plan looks focused, but revenge rarely stays neat once emotions take over. If Chanel is harmed instead of Johnny, the moral meaning of everything changes immediately. Hurting a pregnant woman who was never the real target would turn a revenge plot into a full tragedy. Sofia may talk tough now, but she could unravel once the consequences become real. Kristen may also discover that once devastation happens, control cannot simply be reclaimed. If Chanel pays the price, Johnny’s entire world could collapse in a single moment. His fear would stop being anxiety and become a nightmare brought to life. The suspense now is not whether chaos is coming, but what form it will take when it arrives.
