Leslie Crashes Eva’s Lunch Date — Plus, Smitty Takes On A Dangerous Task!

Eva is nervous as heck about having lunch with Izaiah and his mom at the club. Sure enough, Darlene immediately begins poking at Eva, especially regarding Leslie… who shows up as if her name being uttered summoned a succubus! Things go rapidly downhill, with Leslie being… well, Leslie, and Darlene having come in with a major attitude
It’s hard to say which woman behaves worse before Darlene snaps she can’t sit at the table one more minute before storming off. Izaiah follows, and Eva listens discretely as his mother warns that if his girlfriend is even a little bit like her viper of a mom, Izaiah needs to run, not walk, away from the relationship!
June Gets an Invitation
After their latest dance rehearsal for the upcoming cotillion, Donnell and Samantha head to Orphey Gene’s for a late breakfast. June keeps a close eye on the youngsters, taking offense when Samantha jokes about how badly her brother is doing during training. Donnell offers Sam good advice about how to score points with the other debs and secure Platinum Deb votes. But Sam’s clearly depressed when he admits to having always crushed on Chelsea. Later, she asks June if she’ll go to the cotillion. Her mom is touched, but says she belongs at the fancy event like ketchup on a crab leg.
Will Smitty Go Too Far?
Smitty and Martin pass up lunch in favor of a little sexy time… or at least that’s the plan. But Martin reveals Vernon’s on his way over, and Smitty gets a text from Jacob and has to rush off to — where else? — the alley. Given that neither has any information to exchange, the meeting seems kinda pointless. Jacob doubts that Lia is the Impaler, but rather the blood ring version of middle management. With that in mind, Smitty decides to start poking around the hospital for clues. As for Martin, he and Vernon discuss how important it might be to beef up security as his campaign moves forward.
Anita and Vernon’s morning is interrupted by Dani, who barges in saying she’s in crisis and needs help! The problem? She’s afraid to look at the proofs from her latest photoshoot. Of course, Anita quickly realizes this was just a ruse cooked up by Dani and Vernon. Why? So Vernon could go see Martin without leaving his beloved wife alone. Alone with Dani, Anita urges her daughter not to encourage Vernon’s instinct to be overprotective. As for Dani, she worries that, despite the gorgeous pics, she’s not going to be able to pull off her return to modeling. But Anita says all the right things to soothe Dani’s nerves.
