The Young and the Restless Exclusive: Camryn Grimes Believes There’s Still Hope for “Teriah”
Fans of The Young and the Restless have watched the heartbreaking collapse of one of Genoa City’s most beloved couples, but according to Camryn Grimes, the story of “Teriah” may not be over just yet.
On the show, Tessa Porter (played by Cait Fairbanks) has been searching for answers about whether her marriage can be repaired. Meanwhile, Mariah Copeland is struggling with overwhelming guilt and self-blame after the devastating choices she made over the past year.
Rather than focusing on reconciliation, Mariah currently believes she deserves to face the consequences of the pain she caused.
Mariah’s Emotional Collapse
Mariah’s downward spiral began nearly a year ago after she returned from a business trip hiding a disturbing secret.
During that time, she was haunted by visions of Ian Ward (played by Ray Wise), which pushed her further into emotional turmoil.
Despite the emotional chaos, Daniel quickly sensed that the story between Mariah and Tessa wasn’t truly finished.
After speaking with Mariah, he realized she still loved Tessa deeply and missed the life they built together. Daniel ultimately encouraged Tessa to take a closer look at her feelings and seek clarity about what she truly wants.
While Tessa appears open to the possibility of reconciliation, Mariah is not ready to think about rebuilding their relationship yet.
“Speaking to who Mariah has become in the past 10 years in Genoa City,” the actress explained, “there’s going to be a fair amount of self-punishment and reckoning.”
Mariah is not someone who easily forgives herself, and Grimes believes that deep emotional wounds from her past have resurfaced.
For Mariah to move forward, she will need to confront those unresolved issues and fully understand how she views herself and her identity.
Only then can real healing begin.
A Love Story That Might Not Be Over
Since the characters first met in 2017, their relationship has been one of the most meaningful romances on the show. And according to the actress, that bond could still bring them back together.
“Obviously, I’m never going to say no to these characters,” Grimes said. “I think they have a really, really special connection.”
“If Nikki Newman and Victor Newman can keep coming back to each other,” she joked, “then I think there’s absolutely a world where these characters can heal and reconcile.”
A Message to “Teriah” Fans
Laughing, she first joked, “I’m sorry? Not my fault? I love you!”
But she quickly turned serious, expressing deep appreciation for the fans who care about the characters and their journey.
For now, the future of “Teriah” remains uncertain.
But if Camryn Grimes is right, their story may still have another chapter waiting to be written.
